Spillway filtering device. Made-to-measure technology for the environment, for intelligent cleansing.

Friulana Costruzioni S.R.L. of Vigonovo di Fontanafredda (PN) has brought out a new filtering device for drainage systems.

An essential tool for producers and managers of purification plants, for municipalities, consortia and municipally owned companies, as well as for industrial plants, engineering companies and construction firms.

The spillway filtering device is simple, modular and versatile (it is suitable for adapting to the most complex conditions), but at the same time strong and long-lasting, and it does not need frequent maintenance interventions. This latter is a very important and useful factor, especially in highly critical situations, if we consider the hostile environments and difficult access of the drainage systems in which operators have to work.

Friulana Costruzioni has perfected a system that can be used as a spillway device, equipped with a movable cleaning appliance that, with its unusual V-shape, its clever placing and its special structural features, is effective in repelling all those solid objects that, because of rainfall and the rise in level of the liquid running in the main drainage system channel, may easily block the grids of filtering devices in outlet channels. These are what the excess liquid present in the main channel is made to pass through, before being discharged into rivers, lakes or the sea.

We have here an extra reason - to safeguard the environment - for investing in filtering devices that are safe, efficient and functional and, compared with older solutions, able to prevent installations collapsing because of obstructions and overloads.

The rigidity and non-deformability of the “raking elements” characterised by a protruding, V-shaped front part, and their unusual way of sliding between the longitudinal bars of the vertical grid, in a dual up-down movement, ensure that solid objects are removed and re-released into the main drainage system channel, towards the point of final collection.

A programmable control device prevents the cleaning device and its related actuating mechanism from remaining stationary for long periods in the absence of rain - a fact which would negatively affect its correct functioning.

To complete the unusual features of the whole filtering system there is the “sloping” conformation of the longitudinal bars of the grid, to facilitate the passage of the flow into the side outlet channels, and also the “adaptabilityà” of an external frame that can be made to slope with respect to a channel base wall, in order to make it easier for solid objects removed by the cleaning device to become detached and fall by gravity into the main channel.

To underline the machine's versatility, it is also possible to place several filtering devices alongside each other, obtaining modular, flexible and highly complex compositions that are easily adapted to the size and capacity of a channel, without causing significant breaks between one grid and the next in the flow of liquid towards the side outlet channel.
